Project TS01020071 - RE:Oil

Trafo CZ, a. s., is a recipient of funding from the 2nd public call of the THÉTA 2 Applied Research and Innovation Support Program, provided by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic.
The project aims to utilize waste cooking oils as an additive for a biodegradable liquid, commercially named ENVITRAFOL, which was developed through R&D between 2016-2020 and is also food oil-based. The primary goal of adding waste cooking oils is not to improve the ENVITRAFOL biodegradable liquid, but rather to reuse them to save primary raw materials. Trafo CZ strives for the lowest possible environmental impact for its new generation products, and as a significant supplier of transformers to major electricity distributors, this project has financial implications for their ESG reporting. The additive will be produced using a special process and will undergo both laboratory and pilot-scale testing. The anticipated additive volume is 10-30%, which is expected to save the manufacturer approximately 100 tons of primary raw material.
The project is being carried out in cooperation with the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and ORGREZ.
